Mission: Tremor Trouble
Location: Chief of Security's Office

The security office complex overlooked the main security barracks, a large open plan area 2 decks in height, and a gridiron pitch in width and length, with various training facilities, equipment storage and briefing areas.

To the right hand side, a large set double doors led to the Security Mess and Recreation area. To the left, a standard size door lead into the Versailles, main Starfleet Security Precinct. Unlike on a starship, Versailles security department was essentially a police force, not only securing the vital areas of the Station, but also policing the throngs of Starfleet personnel onboard, and overseeing the Civilian Police Force on the outer rings.

The Chief of Security's Office was reasonably well proportioned, as well as an angle window that the length of the office, overlooking the barracks below, included a large desk area, seating area and a 6 person briefing table. On the inner bulkhead wall, about 3 feet from the main entrance, Richard Groves stood over the replicator, scrolling across the menu looking for his favourite coffee blend. Unfortunately, it seemed like it was unique to the USS Alliance. ‘Oh well’ he thought to himself, ‘Looks like, I’ll be hunting for a new favourite all over again.’ He selected a Bolian blend, using beans originally exported from earth and just as the hum of the replication cycle completed, the door to his office beeped. Luna, his Irish Setter, who had been quietly sleeping under the desk, perked her ears at the sound.

“Ah, Luna, calm down. This will be Lieutenant Preston & Constable Loz’st.” He walked over to the briefing table, Bolian coffee in hand, and summoned his visitors in. “Enter!”

Felix walked into the Security office, PADD in hand, and stood before the desk. "Reporting as requested, sir." He said, looking down at the dog under the desk. "Urm...it doesn't bite, does it?" He asked, nervously.

"Welcome, Lieutenant. No, she doesn't bite at all. Please take a seat." Before the doors could fully close, the chime beeped again and doors automatically swished back open. The stations chief of civilian police entered, coffee cup in hand, petted Luna and took a seat at the meeting table.

"Uh, make yourself at home, I suppose..." Richard did a quick double take before, motioning for Lt Preston to also take a seat. "Constable Loz`st, I assume."

As the three of them all took their positions at the table for the briefing, the Constable pushed back his chair and swung his legs over the top of the table, setting his heels on the edge of the table. "Yup, that'd be me, Chief. What can I do for ya?"

Felix glared at the Constable but said nothing, knowing that he shouldn't reprimand people in front of the chief. If the chief didn't take issue, then he would pull the constable aside later. Felix took a seat at the meeting table and pulled out a PADD, trying to ignore the unprofessionalism of the Constable.

"Constable, we will be utilising your Deputies for basic Customs control. If you can set up check points at each of the docking ports
and perform some basic checks. Working with the medical depart to screen anyone who might bring an illness onto the Station."

Using the palm of his hand, Groves swiped the Constables heels of the edge of the desk. They fell to the ground with a clunk, and the motion pushed the Constable's chair into an upright position - shaking him from his relaxed position. "Get your feet off my table, Constable. I'll expect a plan of action from you within the next 40 minutes." Luna gave a supportive, but quiet bark in the background.

"Lieutenant, the first wave of refugees will arrive in just under 3 hours. If you could see to securing the permitter of the containment area and ensure that all major access points and power junctions are safe. Rope in the Engineering crews to provide temporary bulkheads if required." Groves tapped a padd that was settled on the table in front of him. "Any questions so far?'

"Will we have any support from the marines with securing a perimeter? This stations quite large, and I don't think we have a big enough Security Team to cover everywhere." Felix asked, taking notes on his PADD.

Groves nodded, "Yes, I should hope so. However, in my experience jarheads are not the most effective at policing. We'll have them secure the outer permitter. We'll be pulling double shifts to ensure we have enough coverage - hopefully when things calm down we can reassess that situation."

The Constable nodded agreeably as the briefing continued around him, slurping the coffee. He wasn't really sure what was happening, but he was sure someone, somewhere would be able to cover for him. With another slurp, he stood quickly.

"I better get started on that plan, eh Chief?" Loz'st winked.

"Yes, I suppose you better." Groves continued, and pointed towards Felix, "We have to meet with the CO in Operations - about 5 minutes ago. We better get a move on."
