Science station, Ya'dalla colony.

John and Jane beamed down to the disaster stricken Ya'dalla colony. According to the database co-ordinates, they are supposed to be at the Science station. Due to the uniqueness of the colony being built in the tree tops, accuracy was a imperative. You might just end up on the wrong branch, so to speak.

As they materialized the platform onto which they have beamed, started to sway heavily to and throw. All this due to another tremor ripping through the planets crust.

"This is not right!" Jane responded with a frightened sound in her voice, grabbing the arm of her Captain to stabilize herself.

"I agree with you.." John responded as he placed his free hand onto a railing that might add to both his and Jane's stability.

As the tremor subsided John could finally get to the task of letting the Admiral know that the science team from the Timmis is on the ground.

"Cpt Pentac to Cpt Bleetman. Cmdr Watkins and I have beamed down to the Science station at the Colony. Things looks a little shaken up around here. Will get to the command center in a bit." John reported in to the XO.

John and Jane made their way carefully along the walkways and entered the nearest science lad. They were met with a view of chaos. Terminals were all down and wiring were protruding from the ceilings and wall panels.

"Well this is no help." Jane replied as she survey the situation.

"Yeah, this looks a lot ... well different since our last visit." John responded. He then remembered a little fact that he read in a science report a couple of weeks ago.

"Cmdr Watkins, you had a little chat with the science crew here on Ya'dalla on our last visit. Didn't you write a report on your suspicions around the tremors?" Pentac asked with the peculiar look of deep thought in his eyes. It was one of those rare moments....

"Yes Captain, I did ask and was informed it was a side effect of their mining efforts, but some of the data did not add up." Jane thought for a moment. "Sir, I wonder if I could beam back to the Timmis. I have a hunch that I might find out something more if I use the Timmis' sensor array... you know the secret one?" Jane responded.

John looked at her for a couple of seconds and was shaken from his thoughts by another tremor hitting the area. The trees shook violently from side to side and some walkways started to disintegrate due to the constant onslaught.

Both of them grabbed onto the nearest tree branch and held on for life. Screams from civilians and federation staff echoed in their ears. People were loosing this battle against the elements and it worried John.

"Jane!" He yelled above the noise caused by infrastructure failing.

"I hear you!" She yelled back. Having her arms wrapped around a tree branch gave her the contact to understand the fear even in the trees. They were screaming in her mind and it nearly blinded her with fear as well.

"You hang on!" John replied as he slowly and carefully made his way to her side. John knew what made Jane special and he knew as well that she had to get away from the contact with the tree branch and fast.

Upon reaching her he wrapped an arm around her and gentle urged her to let go.

Jane was scared beyond her own capabilities. Still she felt a calm wash over her as soon as Pentac wrapped his arm around her. {{We need to get out of here}} Her thoughts were clear and she knew Pentac will understand. She will have to explain things to him... later not now.

John looked at Jane as the thought hit him and he didn't waste any time. "Pentac to Timmis. Two to beam directly to the sensor array lab." John instructed upon tapping his comm badge.

It wasn't long before they shimmered and left the shaking tree behind.
